HOW utake WAS BORN
Utake was born from a decade spent riding my bicycle as everyday transportation.
Our family lived in Venice Beach and riding a bicycle was basic survival in all that California traffic.
I RODE MY BICYCLE EVERYWHERE!
It was like a dream.
We moved back to NC
& the dream felt lost!
It became impossible for me to pretend that my bike was my primary mode of transportation.
So I went shopping for a bicycle rack for my car. If I could secure my bike to the back of my car with a minimalist rack, then I could take my bicycle everywhere.
But… looking at racks… nothing resonated… EVERYTHING LOOKED THE SAME!
My dream rack simply did not exist.
Everything looked the same!
Living in a city apartment I needed…
